3rd Super Robot Wars Z: Rengoku-hen is not a separately sold game but a side story you download with a code included in the first print of Tengoku-hen. No licensed series appear, only Z series Original units and characters, so the roster below is easier to read unit by unit than by series group. It also includes allied, enemy, and event units.
What Rengoku-hen is
According to the official PlayStation.Blog introduction (March 25, 2015), Rengoku-hen is the following. PlayStation.Blog
- Position: A side story to 3rd Super Robot Wars Z: Jigoku-hen and a new Original story that serves as a bridge to Tengoku-hen.
- Length: It consists of 15 stages in total.
- Characters and units: The story is built only from "Z" series Original mecha and characters, and the introduction said that Z series protagonists such as Setsuko Ohara and Crowe Brust appear.
- Sales: The article stated that there were no plans to release it on its own.
The same article also said that Tengoku-hen, like Jigoku-hen, would get "Bonus Scenarios" covering side stories of the main game as downloadable content. Rengoku-hen was introduced separately from these bonus scenarios, as a bonus attached to the first print.
How to get it and platforms
- Distribution: The first print of 3rd Super Robot Wars Z: Tengoku-hen included a product code for downloading Rengoku-hen. The article stated that the code came only with the first production run and that using it required a connection to PlayStation Network. PlayStation.Blog
- Platforms and dates: The official Super Robot Wars lineup does not list Rengoku-hen separately. Tengoku-hen, released alongside it, came out for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on April 2, 2015, and this page's info box also gives that date as the day Rengoku-hen became available. How to read the roster
Every unit in Rengoku-hen is a Z series original, so splitting them by "Title" as on other series pages would leave almost a single group. This site is in the process of linking each unit to the Z series title where it first appeared, so units not yet linked to an original series do not appear in the public roster.
- Units that also appear in Jigoku-hen and Tengoku-hen are grouped on the same unit card.
- Even for the same unit, versions used only in events go under "Other" rather than on an allied card.
