Privacy Policy.
Explains what information SRW History processes and why, how long it is kept, and how you can manage it.
This document is a translation of the Korean original. If the meaning differs, the Korean version (Korean privacy policy) takes precedence.
1. Operator and Basic Policy
SRW History (the “Site”) complies with Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act and other relevant laws, and processes users’ personal information only to the minimum extent necessary. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the Site, for what purposes and for how long it is kept, and how you can manage your own information.
The Site has no sign-up or login features, and it does not ask for or store information that directly identifies users, such as names, resident registration numbers, passwords, or financial information.
2. Information Processed: Items, Purposes, and Retention Periods
- Visit statistics (our own statistics)
- Items: a random visitor identifier (UUID) generated in the browser, visited page path, date and time of access, device type (mobile/desktop), normalized referrer, UTM information (source, medium, campaign), and country and city information estimated from the access location
- Purpose: counting unique visitors and page views, identifying the most-read pages, and improving service quality
- Collection method: the identifier is kept in the browser’s local storage and in our own cookie (
srw_vid) valid for one year, and is sent to the statistics API (/api/visits) when a page is opened. The statistics API does not store IP addresses. - Retention period: kept for up to 14 months from the date of collection, then deleted. The
srw_vidcookie expires one year after it is created.
- Server access logs
- Items: IP address, browser type (User-Agent), operating system, date and time of access, requested page
- Purpose: maintaining service stability, responding to outages, and security management such as blocking abnormal access
- Retention period: recorded automatically under the policies of the hosting and delivery infrastructure (Vercel, Cloudflare) and deleted after the period set by each provider.
- Email inquiries
- Items: sender’s email address, message body, and any material the user chooses to attach
- Purpose: reviewing inquiries, correcting content, handling rights infringement reports, and replying
- Retention period: deleted within one year after the matter is resolved. However, where retention is required by law, such as in a rights dispute, it is kept for that period.
- Search terms and display settings: Search terms are used only to filter results through the query string in the address bar and are not stored on the server. The light/dark display setting is stored only in the local storage of your browser.
3. Google Analytics and Google AdSense
The Site uses Google Analytics, and Google AdSense ads are shown only on public content pages after approval and setup are complete.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics (Google tag
G-SDWR1GQNQE) to statistically analyze usage patterns and traffic sources in order to improve the service. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as_ga) to collect statistical information about visits and interactions, and this information is sent to and processed on Google’s servers. You can refuse this collection by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. - Google AdSense advertising cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Opting out of personalized ads: You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or My Ad Center. You can opt out of third-party vendors’ cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Google’s use of data: You can see how Google uses information from partner sites in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
4. Managing Cookies and Local Storage
You can refuse the storage of cookies and local storage through your browser settings, or delete information already stored (such as our statistics identifier srw_vid and the Google Analytics cookie _ga) at any time. Even if you refuse cookies, you can read every page on the Site without restriction.
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies / Delete browsing data
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Block All Cookies or Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data
5. Outsourcing of Processing and Overseas Transfer
The Site uses the services of the providers below to operate, and in the process information may be processed on those providers’ servers abroad. You can refuse this processing using the methods described in this policy (refusing cookies, installing an add-on, and so on), and refusing does not restrict your access to the content.
- Vercel Inc. (USA): website hosting and processing of server access logs — Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): content delivery (CDN), image storage, storage of visit statistics data, security (blocking abnormal access), and processing of access logs in that process — Privacy Policy
- Google LLC (USA): Google Analytics visit analysis, Google AdSense ad serving — Privacy Policy
The items transferred and their retention periods are the same as in Section 2, and information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
6. Provision to Third Parties
The Site does not sell or provide users’ information to third parties. The exceptions are cases with a legal basis, or where an investigative agency requests it following procedures set out by law.
7. Destruction Procedure and Method
Information whose retention period has passed or whose processing purpose has been achieved is destroyed without delay. Information in electronic file form is deleted in a way that cannot be recovered, and the operator checks retention periods at least once a month and deletes visit statistics whose period has passed.
8. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your information at any time. If you make a request to the email address below, we will act without delay and tell you the result. However, because visit statistics are processed with a random identifier not linked to a name or contact details, you can include the srw_vid value from your browser with your request, or cut off future linking by deleting cookies in your browser.
9. Security Measures
- We process only the minimum information necessary, and do not collect directly identifying information such as names or contact details in visit statistics.
- All transmission is encrypted with HTTPS.
- Access to the statistics database is granted only to the operator, and access keys are managed only as server environment variables.
10. Children Under 14
Anyone can read the content on the Site without signing up, and the Site does not separately collect personal information of children under the age of 14. If a child under 14 wishes to contact us by email, please obtain the consent of a legal guardian before doing so.
